About the Symposium

The Symposium's program mirrors the philosophy of the School in approaching nutrition challenges through the application of policy based on sound scientific research.

The Symposium is a forum where all parties who have influence or interest on the outcome of nutritional wellbeing may share ideas and gain knowledge that will affect the direction of policy, the advancement of scientific understanding, and improve the quality of nutrition and physical activity for populations in the US and worldwide.

The Symposium traces its origin to our Board of Overseers who recognized the School’s ability and obligation to broaden our educational reach by hosting an annual conference.

Guided by a scientific program committee chaired by Timothy Griffin, PhD, the Symposium address issues of interest to thought leaders, policymakers, researchers and representatives of the food and supplement industries. Topics are selected for their timeliness and impact on nutritional wellbeing of populations and often deal with issues that are of importance to multiple stakeholders.

The continuing goal of the Symposium will be to offer the most current lectures and discussions, engage learners from all professions related to nutrition and serve as a neutral forum for the exchange of ideas for persons and organizations dedicated to the advancement of shared goals.
